South Africa’s triple challenge of persisting poverty, unemployment and inequality has led to the call by government and the State President for joint effort by both the public and private sectors in the country to find collaborative and creative ways of alleviating and reducing these challenges.
The issue of unemployment in general, and youth unemployment in particular, is exacerbated by low skill and qualification levels. This presents both a challenge and an opportunity for entrepreneurs willing to think outside of the box in finding sustainable solutions.
Learning 4 Life is up to the challenge to improve skills and qualification levels amongst South Africa’s youth and thus enable improved employability and the achievement of self-sufficiency and sustainable livelihoods. As such we have created an eco-system of public and private sector partnerships in the public and private sectors involved in skills development, education and training arenas. These partnerships allow for the achievement of our mission to provide skills development to unemployed youth through learnerships, internships and short skills courses, with the main aim of them being able to find meaningful employment or start small businesses.
